Turn EU regulation into deterministic, testable rules. Own the rule corpus (74 rules from Annex XIII today), track the ESPR delegated acts for textiles and electronics, and keep every public claim exactly as true as the code.
About Vikka
Vikka is the compliance infrastructure for EU Digital Product Passports. A live battery passport product serves Regulation 2023/1542 ahead of the February 2027 deadline; textiles and electronics are next. Deterministic engine, GS1-conformant resolver, published API, transparent pricing. AI assists; the engine decides.
What you will do
- Own correctness of the compliance engine: every rule traceable to an article and paragraph, every change covered by golden tests.
- Track Battery Regulation guidance and the ESPR delegated acts as they land, and translate annexes into schema and rules before customers ask.
- Prepare the rule corpus for external legal review and drive the open questions register to closure.
- Answer the hard customer questions: what applies, from when, to whom, with sources.
- Gate the marketing: nothing ships that claims more than the engine verifies.
What you bring
- A background in EU product regulation, EPR schemes, certification or standards work: you read legal text for a living and enjoy it.
- Systematic rigor: you distinguish what a text says, what it implies and what is still undecided, and you write all three down separately.
- Enough technical fluency to specify rules precisely (tables, schemas, pseudo-code) and review their implementation.
- Plain-language writing. Our customers are engineers and compliance managers, not lawyers.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with EN 18219/18222, GS1 standards or battery/textile industry practice.
- Legal training, or scars from an EPR registration that went sideways.
- A second EU language beyond English.
